Portraiture and a new project:

My name is Charly Roberts and I am currently studying Art as an A level. Whilst planning my new project (which I will come to talk about in a minute) I decided I wanted a portable way to display some of my larger pieces of work, an almost online sketchbook for the work I can’t fit in a regular sized book. Hence the name, TheOnlineSketchbook. On here I will post updated of project changes and progression throughout my work such as learning new skills.

My project; I have decided to start with a rather broad title of Portraiture and do sub-headings throughout my journey slowly focusing more on what I want the bulk of my project to be. I chose to do this because it allows me to look at figures, proportion and realism in portraiture as well as in locations and try a variety of styles and media I haven’t used before. Throughout this project, I’m going to look at developing my painting and drawing styles but also try and work with more untraditional medias such as plaster, clay and laser cutting. I will post about artists that have inspired me, the photos I take and the work I create.
